Extra Services through Lent

18th February, Ash Wednesday 10.30am Eucharist with imposition of Ashes (in the Lady Chapel) 40 mins
8pm Sung Eucharist with imposition of Ashes at St Nicholas, Harpenden - Tim will be preaching 60 mins
22nd February (Sunday) 9:30am Ash Sunday Eucharist: the same service as Ash Wednesday and will provide an opportunity for everyone to take part, and learn about, the tradition of marking our foreheads with ash to start the season of Lent. 60/70 minutes
16th March 5pm Contemplative Celtic Evening Prayer
15th March (Sunday) 9.30am Mothering Sunday All Age Eucharist: with prayers and readings by our Brownies and singing led by a Junior Choir. Each person receives the gift of a posey (prepared by our Mothers Union). We then finish with refreshments in the Church Hall. All welcome, and don’t forget to bring your mum – whether in spirit or in person. 
22nd March (Sunday) 7pm Tenebrae service: . A Tenebrae service is a Christian tradition that takes place in the dark and involves the gradual extinguishing of candles. The word Tenebrae is Latin for "darkness". The service is a meditation on Christ's suffering and death, through music and readings from the Bible
